President Trump\u2019s border czar Tom Homan slammed New York state Assembly member Zohran Mamdani after the projected victory of the democratic socialist<\/a> in New York City\u2019s Democratic mayoral primary.<\/p>\n

\u201cNew York\u2019s in trouble,\u201d Homan said while discussing the apparent victory of Mamdani on John Catsimatidis and Rita Cosby\u2019s radio show Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, President Trump’s made it clear we’re going to hammer \u2014 we’re going to double and triple down on sanctuary cities. So, what you see in New York City today, double it,\u201d he added later.<\/p>\n

Mamdani unexpectedly beat 10 other candidates in Tuesday’s New York mayoral Democratic primary, according to unofficial results, shocking political observers<\/a>. Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was on a path to a second-place finish.<\/p>\n

Mamdani immigrated to the U.S. from Uganda as a child and has spent most of his life in the nation\u2019s biggest city. If he clinches New York City\u2019s top job in November, he would be its first Muslim and Asian mayor.<\/p>\n

In a Truth Social post Wednesday<\/a>, Trump called Mamdani<\/a> \u201ca 100% Communist Lunatic.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s finally happened, the Democrats have crossed the line. Zohran Mamdani, a 100% Communist Lunatic, has just won the Dem Primary, and is on his way to becoming Mayor. We\u2019ve had Radical Lefties before, but this is getting a little ridiculous,\u201d Trump said in the post.<\/p>\n
