{"id":694,"date":"2025-06-12T19:10:49","date_gmt":"2025-06-12T19:10:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.logicalware.net\/?p=694"},"modified":"2025-06-17T11:05:33","modified_gmt":"2025-06-17T11:05:33","slug":"dhs-to-send-termination-notice-to-530k-migrant-biden-parolees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.logicalware.net\/index.php\/2025\/06\/12\/dhs-to-send-termination-notice-to-530k-migrant-biden-parolees\/","title":{"rendered":"DHS to send termination notice to 530K migrant Biden parolees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Homeland Security sent termination notices to Cubans, Haitians, Venezuelans and Nicaraguans after the Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration to end the Biden-era parole program.<\/p>\n<p>The termination notices will be sent to some 530,000 people who came to the U.S. under the parole program, which granted entry for two years as well as work permits to anyone who could secure a U.S.-based financial sponsor.<\/p>\n<p>The move comes after the Supreme Court last month granted an emergency request to the high court <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/5325629-supreme-court-revokes-migrant-parole\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allowing it to scrap the protections<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a release, the Trump administration blasted the program for allowing \u201cpoorly vetted\u201d migrants into the country.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, applicants were screened before arrival and also had to show they would be financially supported so they would not be a burden on U.S. taxpayers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Biden Administration lied to America. They allowed more than half a million poorly vetted aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela and their immediate family members to enter the United States through these disastrous parole programs; granted them opportunities to compete for American jobs and undercut American workers; forced career civil servants to promote the programs even when fraud was identified; and then blamed Republicans in Congress for the chaos that ensued and the crime that followed,\u201d DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>According to reporting from CNN, which obtained a copy of the planned notices, citizens of the four countries will be told their work permits are being revoked.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cIf you do not leave, you may be subject to enforcement actions, including but not limited to detention and removal, without an opportunity to make personal arrangements and return to your country in an orderly manner,\u201d the notice says, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration pitched the parole program as a way to ease tension at the border, creating a pathway for those from countries most likely to seek asylum or cross at the southern border.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Homeland Security sent termination notices to Cubans, Haitians, Venezuelans and Nicaraguans after the Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration to end the Biden-era parole program.
