Anthropic announced Tuesday it will offer its artificial intelligence (AI) model Claude to all three branches of the federal government for $1, following a similar move by OpenAI last week.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Federal agencies will have access to two versions of Claude \u2014 Claude for Government and Claude for Enterprise, the company said in a blog post.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cAmerica’s AI leadership requires that our government institutions have access to the most capable, secure AI tools available,\u201d Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said in a statement. <\/p>\n
\u201cBy offering expanded Claude access across all three branches of government, we’re helping the federal workforce leverage frontier AI capabilities to maintain our competitive advantage and better serve the American people,\u201d he continued. <\/p>\n
The announcement comes after Claude was added<\/a> to the General Services Administration\u2019s government purchasing system last week, making the AI model available for purchase and use by federal agencies.\u00a0<\/p>\n OpenAI\u2019s ChatGPT, Google\u2019s Gemini and Grok\u2019s xAI have also been added to the system, known as the Multiple Award Schedule. <\/p>\n
